Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Speaker of the DPRD of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Suwanti stated her support to the local government to put education as one of priority programs in "Bumi Saijaan" (Kotabaru's nickname).
"We provide support to the local government as a strategic step to advance education in Kotabaru," said Suwanti here as reported last Wednesday.
She highlighted that education program initiated by the local government with the theme "Kotabaru Hebat" places education sector as part of flagship program that wil be implemented.
"The program has been proven by provision of scholarship to school and university students (which is sourced) from APBD," she said.

Suwanti added that the National Education Day commemoration was currently a momentum of reflection as well as stengthening a shared commitment to build inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable education for the future of the region and nation.
"I hope the local government to continue grant and scholarship program to outstanding students," Suwanti pointed out.
Previously, the Kotabaru government had launched various priority programs in education in the 100 working days of the Regent and Deputy Regent, including Kotabaru Smart card, which includes scholarships for elementary school (SD/MI) and junior high school (SMP/MTs).
Providing school equipment for early age education (PAUD), public and Islamic elementary school (SD/MI), and public and Islamic junior high school (SMP/MTs) students.
Kotabaru Regent also signed MoU with PT Digital GASING Edukasi on April 17, 2025 to present the mathematics method of GASING (easy, fun, and enjoyable), the first in South Kalimantan in order to improve student literacy.
Kotabaru also implements Sekolah Rakyat program, as a form of commitment to providing affordable alternative school for people in remote areas and underserved areas.
